She views the knowledge within the Yoga Sutras as an important key for us all to truly live our practice.

Alexis enjoys weaving this information into her classes. Her teaching style is born from her studies and from her own practice and experience.

She gives information, and adjustments so that students form a foundation based in impeccability of alignment. This is ensures that people learn to move their bodies in an integrated and intelligent way. She has a warm and compassionate style.

Based in Ormond Beach, Florida, she has taught over 1000 hours of yoga is a Certified ERYT200,RYT500 Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance, offers Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga Classes, Women's Intuition Series, Journey through Breathe and Sounds.

More recently, Alexis discovered her calling to work with women throughout their birthing journey while pregnant with her own daughter, Emerson, born in September 2009.

While experiencing her own birth story, she devoured everything possible on the subjects of pregnancy, birth, and mothering to ensure her own powerful birth experience.

It was this experience that opened her eyes to a deeper understanding of wordless compassion, selfless service, and that yoga can be a part of every woman’s life no matter where her path may lead.

PRENATAL YOGA
(Beginner Friendly Class)
Inside you is an innate wisdom that intuitively understands about the very natural process of birth. During this transitional time many physical & emotional changes take place. Prenatal Yoga is about honoring these changes in our hearts and our bodies as we connect to baby and honor the Goddess within. Conducted in a peaceful, yet fun environment, the class uses yogic postures to help strengthen the uterus and pelvic floor muscles, improve circulation, aid in digestion, keep the body flexible, and increase overall comfort during pregnancy.

With a mindful Prenatal Yoga practice many of the common discomforts of pregnancy such as nausea, constipation, varicose veins, swelling, back pain, and sciatica can be alleviated. Linking yoga postures with the breath will lead you to new discoveries, bringing awareness to the mind, body, and spirit of both you and your baby. A safe, open community allows you to freely discuss any challenges and celebrations and connect mother and baby to prepare for a healthy, mindful, more natural approach to the powerful experience of labor and birth.

Prenatal Yoga may be practiced through all trimesters (clearing any medical issues with the care provider) and is a great way to connect with other mothers-to-be and establish friendships that go far beyond the journey of pregnancy and childbirth. No previous yoga experience is required! Wear comfortable clothes you can move in and a bottle of water to drink. Birth is not a crisis waiting to happen, it is a Celebration of Life!

POST NATAL YOGA
(Beginner Friendly Class)
is used to help mothers reconnect following birth and begin to help the body regain strength and flexibility. These yoga classes focus on the needs of new mamas: strong core work, energizing yoga and rejuvenating poses.
The first 40 days after birth is to bond, establish breast feeding, allow the body to regain strength and get lots of rest! Approximately six weeks following birth, return to Postnatal Yoga with your baby to share support and information with other new moms.

Yoga postures for mom focus on rebuilding strength in the abdomen, back and pelvic floor, releasing tension in the shoulders and neck, and opening of the chest and heart. All done in a place where your baby is welcome to nurse, nap, or play with toys. We involve the babies as weights, as well as some shared mama/baby poses, and infant massage. This class caters to newborns (4 weeks old) through 1 years old (pre-walkers). Enjoy fun yoga, songs, and gentle massage with babies to help bond & relax. We focus of strengthening the spiritual, emotional, and physical bond between parent and child.

Breast-feeding is welcome and supported! Share this special time with other new moms, discussing common postpartum issues and stretching the stiffness away!! Let Prenatal Yoga from Prenatal to the Cradle help carry you smoothly through the busy early months and first year caring for a new baby!
